Is anything more mind-opening than travel? I’ve loved traveling from a young age – getting packed into the minivan at 2 am so we could drive off into parts unknown for all sorts of spectacular adventures.
I’m not one to stay in fancy hotels, and would prefer to slum it up in some nameless hostel or small local-owned bed and breakfast, as I love to delve into the local culture when straying away from my home base.
While I hated hiking as a younger child (and even once refused to get out of the car while visiting Bryce Canyon!!!), my early experiences and 13 years of camping and backpacking as a Boy Scout prepared me to love it in my adult life.
I love nothing more than a mysterious backwater town, a night slept under the stars, or an ascent up some nameless mountain. The travel bug has bit me hard, sending me to such far-off places as Thailand, China, Italy and throughout the American South West.
From National Parks to World Heritage Sites, I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my adventures, and that they just might inspire you to take a few of your own!
